modding is safer. but i recommend that before modding any pc games u should just check wether the game is original or just a fake one
the original ones are sold in some video game stores but the prices may differ
b coz video game stores now sell also false copy of some games which is not legal.
but if u want to mod games you have to buy the false copy and it costs just 2$
the original costs some 6$ to 7$. you cannot mod games which are original.
and before modding any games please make a back up.
